Grounding Exercise

Who is this for?

This is a really quick and easy exercise you can do to help relieve street or anxiety, it is for anybody who wants to relieve stress regardless of age.

All you need to do is follow these easy steps:


1. Plant your feet

Place both feet flat on the floor, sit upright.

 Feel the chair supporting you.

Feel both your feet touching the floor.

2. Breathe

Inhale slowly while counting to 5.

Exhale completely while counting to 5 and repeat.

3. Notice

Notice what is around you, say it out loud:

5 things that you can see (describe them to yourself out loud)

4 things that you can hear (tell yourself what you can hear out loud)

3 things that you can feel (describe it to yourself out loud)

2 things that you can smell (describe it to yourself out loud)

1 thing you can taste (describe it to yourself out loud)
